Loan Insights

The Integrated Banking Systems (IBS) have been in operation in banks for many years. Usually they are OLTP systems optimized for banking transaction processing with some capabilities for MIS reporting and analysis. The majority of data in the IBS systems is current data used in daily operations, and only this data is readily and quickly available. Historical data is usually archived and very seldom used in operational activities. Hence the MIS reports from these systems cannot provide metrics that require integrated/consolidated view of data, or that require historical or third party data.

Reports that provide information on what has happened in the past are not sufficient. You need the ability to analyze why it has happened, and the ability to forecast when it will happen again. You need to have the ability to do What if analyses to understand the impact of your action on the business.

Your need the ability to understand how your Loans are performing using metrics like Profit Margin, Interest Margin, Operating Margin, Probability of Default, Value at Risk, Capital Adequacy ratio etc; and have the ability to drill down to identify the cause of variance and take proactive steps to mitigate it as well as compare the performance with previous time periods. You need to identify your high valued customers are and how you can target them better.
